Etymotic Research ETY COM Headset Review

Topic: IT2INFO Gadget Reviews

Etymotic Research ETY COM Headset Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Etymotic Research Inc. sent me their ETY.COM ER22 headset for mobile phones for review. As you probably know Etymotic Research are the guys who invented the in-the-ear earphones way back in 1984. IT2INFO reader Iko Iko points me to Marty Garcia who apparently was the first with the Canalphone technology.

The ETY.COM ER22 combines a noise-isolating earphone and noise-rejecting directional microphone which allows you to speak softly for greater privacy.

Quote:
"Etymotic Research also recommends to moisten the ear tip for best results. Reading this just brought back images from the classic sci-fi movie eXistenZ, I watched the other day. There is one scene where Jennifer Jason Leigh is moisten the bio-port on Jude Law's back - ugh. This movie is anyway pretty sick with the embryonic game consoles, but it is a classic. "

Hot: Zizzle's iZ Music Toy Review

Topic: IT2INFO Gadget Reviews

Hot: Zizzle's iZ Music Toy Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review Looks like IT 2info is the first to review the iZ music toy from Zizzle.

As reported iZ is the new toy from Furby inventor Roger Shiffman. The company was nice enough to send us an iZ for review.

This three legged creature is quite a character. Will iZ be as successful as the original Furby? Maybe. It is definitely a very interesting new toy aimed at this year's holiday season. That it has synergies with MP3 players makes it also interesting for grown-ups.
I made a 'music' video of the iZ, as it is impossible to describe it with words alone. Read the full iZ review below and watch the videos. Read more

Quote:
"Today I am reviewing the Artec DR-RE12A DVD Recorder, being as this is the first time I ever used a DVD recorder it has been an adventure, I have done a rather extended testing of this device, and have found many things I love about it, and a few that need work. "

Tchibo Floor Cleaning Robot Review

Topic: IT2INFO Gadget Reviews

Tchibo Floor Cleaning Robot Review Technology News, Electronics Buy Guide and Gadget Review As reported the other day, I got me one of those low-cost floor cleaning robots from the German coffee chain Tchibo. This floor cleaning robot looks similar to the Roomba robot, but has no vacuum function. This robot cleans just by brushing the floor, still at $110 (89,90 Euros) I thought I give it spin.

Taking it out of the box things where still good. The red floor robot has decent looks and the manufacturing quality seems alright too. The easy to understand manual told me to charge the robot for 12 hours. The next day, after switching the Tchibo robot on and selecting one of the 3 room cleaning programs (small, medium and large room) the robot started to disappoint.

UnSound Advice Conversational Characters Review

UnSound Advice Conversational Characters Review Future Technology News technology Review Ken reviews new voice activated toys from Spectrum Research.
The UnSound Advice Conversational Characters Buddy Kool, Madame Seemore, Professor Fullbright and The Lemons give, you guessed it, unsound advice.

Quote:
" Ever wanted to just have fun with some of the gadgets you have and not worry about all the associated equipment, peripherals and what it's compatible with? How about just plain ole' fun? Then try these interactive characters from Spectrum Research, Inc. Aptly coined Unsound Advice Conversational Characters for those tired of listening to their wives, husbands, girl/boyfriends or the proverbial "expert" in the office; this "family" will provide you with good clean fun for hours. Review of the World's Smallest MP3 Player - MobiBlu DAH-1500 Future Technology News technology Review As pre-announced last week here is my review of the World's Smallest MP3 player.

Since last week one important thing changed. Wal-Mart picked up distribution of the MobiBlu DAH-1500. They even offer an enhanced version dubbed MobiBlu DAH-1500i that comes with USB 2.0 and WMA-DRM, solving two disadvantages of the original version currently available.
Congratulations to the purchasing department at Wal-Mart to pick this player up and make it available to customers at a good price point.

Read our review to find out how the world's smallest player is behaving. See also 21 hi-res photos of the player in the gallery (including shots comparing the MobiBlu to the Apple iPod shuffle). Read more

Are You Sick of Using Video Tapes in Camcorders?

JVC offers a line of Video Cameras that use Hard-drives instead of Video Tapes. JVC is still the only company that has Video Cameras on the market that use hard-drives to store DVD quality video. It is in my mind a very obvious solution in a complete digital environment that we are in now.
Nobody is questioning that we stopped use film in digital cameras. So why do still most video cameras on the market use tape? Sure the data volume is much higher for video, memory sticks or SD cards offer to little space to record hours of high quality videos. Now that portable hard-drives are used to store your complete music library it is of course also possible to record hours of high quality video on them.
Right now JVC offers three models with a 4GB hard-drive: The GZ-MC100 ($899.99), The GZ-MC200 ($998.94) and the new high-end GZ-MC-500 ($1,599.95). If you need more storage, JVC will start ship end of August the JVC Everio G-Series camcorders that boast 20 and 30GB hard-drives. That means up to 37 hours of video recording on the 30GB models and up to 25 hours on the 20GB model - Tape just died, as film did. Amazon.com opened pre-order on the new JVC Everio G-Series camcorders. You can get the GZ-MG20 for $799.95, the GZ-MG40 for $899.99 and the GZ-MG50 for $999.99.
